Going into the final round, it promises to be an interesting week at the selection table.

After a huge win over Port Adelaide, it’s going to be tough to make changes, but the good form of those at VFL level keeps the door open.

North Media looks at those in the mix for a call-up.

Defenders

Paul Ahern was a late withdrawal last week against the Power due to hamstring tightness, but would be right in contention if deemed fit.

Given his injury history, North won’t take any risks.

Ben McKay has enjoyed a solid stretch of form in the VFL, but could find it tough to break in given the Roos are already playing three talls in the back half.

Midfielders

When it comes to players who deserve a chance, not many stand out more than Tom Campbell.

The big man has been terrific in the VFL all year, but a career-best game from Todd Goldstein will make it difficult for him to get back in at the moment.

Forwards

A 6-goal haul from Lachlan Hosie has brought him right into contention for the clash against Melbourne.

The Roos’ forward structure couldn’t have worked much more effectively last week, but if a spot presents, he’s raring to go.

Mason Wood also responded strongly to his omission with a 20-disposal, 2-goal effort, and is proven at the highest level.
