Hawthorn has overrun a plucky North Melbourne, winning by 16 points at University of Tasmania Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Kangaroos skipper Nick Larkey gave his side a one-point lead on the cusp of three-quarter time, but the Hawks came out firing with the first three goals of the final term to run out 14.15 (99) to 12.11 (83) winners.
The Roos - who had not defeated the Hawks at their Launceston fortress for more than five years - started the game well and held a 17-point lead at the first change.

After having just one possession in the first term, Hawk Nick Watson sprung to life in the second with three goals to level the scores at half-time.
Watson finished with an equal career-high five goals in the arm-wrestle which had nine lead changes in a row during the middle stretch of the contest.
Cooper Trembath impressed for the Roos up forward with three goals, while star midfielder Harry Sheezel had 25 disposals and a two majors.
A five-day break and Thursday night football awaits the Kangas when they next take on the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.
