Star defender Emma Kearney will miss the rest of the home and away season, after scans confirmed a moderate-grade hamstring injury for the veteran Kangaroo.
Kearney's milestone 100th AFLW appearance against Sydney at Arden St on Sunday was shortened after she pulled up sore during the fourth quarter.
Senior physiotherapist Billy Williams said Kearney would start her initial phase of rehab this week.
"We’ll continue to reassess her readiness for a return to play as she progresses through the stages of recovery," Williams said.
Fellow defender Nicole Bresnehan is progressing well following "a great week of rehab" last week, Williams said.
“She’ll look to reintegrate into team training over the next fortnight with the view to have her available for the backend of the home and away season,” he said.
Mia King (neck), Amy Smith (knee), and Sarah Wall (knee) are all working hard on their respective recoveries.
King will look to resume running this week and Smith has made some significant improvements in her strength testing, while Wall has begun the initial phases of her knee rehab.
