Rhyce Shaw has guided North Melbourne to a third win from four matches in charge, thumping his former club and top-two fancy Collingwood 11.15 (81) to 5.7 (37) at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.

Inaccurate kicking in front of goal looked like it would cost the Roos early as they started the contest with five behinds, including two and a complete miss from Coleman Medal chance Ben Brown, but they dominated inside 50s and scoring opportunities to a level where they could afford to spray a few.

The ever-present pressure North has brought since Shaw took the reins was there again, putting the Pies under the pump throughout and limiting their forward's chances to get the scoreboard moving.

Jack Ziebell (25 disposals, seven clearances, three goals) was imposing in the midfield and a constant threat when he pushed forward, while the recently re-signed Ben Cunnington (37 disposals, seven clearances) was typically combative out of the centre all night.

Collingwood was led well by Adam Treloar and Scott Pendlebury, but they, like their teammates, were given little room to move and couldn’t create enough goalkicking opportunities to avoid the club's lowest score since 1995.

Injuries to Ben Reid (calf) and Brayden Sier (head) made the night even worse for those in black and white, while North Melbourne first-gamer Kyron Hayden also left the match in the first half with an Achilles injury.
