With Jack Ziebell suspended, all eyes will be on selection on Thursday to see who replaces him.

Luckily for Brad Scott and his match committee, several players were able to put their hand up at VFL level with some strong performances.

After a game of two halves very much at the opposite end of the spectrum, it will be interesting to see whether North will look to make any additional changes.

NMFC.com.au looks at those in the mix for selection.

Have your say on the potential changes below.

Midfielders

Ryan Bastinac and Trent Dumont both had huge games for North Ballarat on Saturday.

Bastinac finished with 43 disposals, importantly 18 of those were contested which suggests he can take on an inside role in Ziebell’s absence, while Dumont looks a like-for-like replacement and impressed with 35 possessions.

Brad McKenzie is better known for his work on the outside, but his outstanding form could see him rewarded with a call-up.

Daniel Wells is set to spend another week in the VFL, lining up for Werribee’s development team.

Jamie Macmillan is considered a strong chance to return from a hamstring injury, but whether that’s via Werribee or straight into the AFL team remains to be seen.

Defenders

It’s hard to see too many changes in the back half with North’s experienced heads holding up despite being under siege in the first half last week.

Nevertheless, Joel Tippett has been in outstanding form for North Ballarat in recent weeks, while Aaron Mullett had 27 disposals in its victory on the weekend after his omission.

Scott McMahon hasn’t put a foot wrong this year with Werribee, but didn’t have the chance to push his case due to Werribee’s bye last weekend.

Forwards

The Roos’ forwards played a big role in the third quarter resurgence against the Saints, with Drew Petrie the star.

Of those pushing up, Aaron Black was a good performer for the Roosters, praised for his second and third efforts at the contest.

Mason Wood travelled to Hobart as an emergency and could be close to gaining another chance in the royal blue and white.

Kayne Turner was another who didn’t have the chance to prove himself due to Werribee’s bye, as was the case for in-form big man Majak Daw.
