Dear community members,

I wanted to take this opportunity to provide an update on The Huddle’s response to the current situation regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19).

We are not alone in dealing with challenges presented and you are almost certainly confronting issues within your own schools, workplaces, sports and other community groups.

Unfortunately, our sport, education and career pathways programs from The Huddle facilities across North Melbourne and Werribee will be restricted until further notice.

We have not made this decision lightly but the health, wellbeing and safety of young people, staff, volunteers and members of our community is paramount.

We are still planning to deliver school holiday programs from March 31 across selected locations (subject to advice) with increased health and safety precautions in place.

Although staff have been instructed to work from home, we remain committed to maintaining our high standards and work ethic and will continue to support young people to learn, grow and belong – we just may need to communicate with you through the use of technology.

We will continue to update you as we receive greater clarity on how containment measures will impact The Huddle and the North Melbourne Football Club. We will also endeavour to answer any questions you may have at the appropriate time.

For now, we have listened to the advice provided by the State Government, AFL, relevant health authorities and North Melbourne Football Club medical officers, and taken steps to reduce the risk to players, staff, students and families.

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.

Yours sincerely,

Cameron McLeod
