For North Melbourne player, Lachie Hosie, good mental health comes from confiding in those closest to him.

“I think talking is the biggest thing [so] you don’t bury yourself in a hole, you express yourself to other people and you talk about your issues,” Hosie told True North.

“Friends and family ... talking to them, talking to everyone, making sure they understand how you’re feeling and knowing what you’re feeling inside of yourself.

“I definitely think you got to have fun but there’s obviously a time and place where you need to realise what’s going on in life and to work your way through them.

“I think once you do that you can come out the other side a better person for sure.”
