40 years ago North celebrated its second premiership, but not before a remarkable Grand Final draw and subsequent replay against Collingwood.

It was just the second drawn Grand Final in history and has been replicated just once since that memorable year in 1977.

On Saturday night, North will pay tribute to its premiership stars at Etihad Stadium as the current day Roos' stars take on the Magpies.

The '77 team will be in the change-rooms before the match, before being honoured as the club's "Homecoming Heroes" on the ground.

The players will be interviewed, before forming a Guard of Honour as Jack Ziebell leads the team through the banner.

NMFC.com.au will release a special video tribute on the 1977 Grand Final later this week. Stay tuned.
