North’s newest recruit Robin Nahas has revealed how a whirlwind week led to him reigniting his career at a new club.

“It’s been a pretty quick transition. I came back from America last week and had an interview with the club on Thursday,” he told NMFC.com.au.

“They (Brad Scott and the coaching staff) wanted to know what kind of guy I was, more character-based, what happened with last year and why I was out of the (Richmond) side a little bit.

“It obviously went well. I got to learn a bit about Brad, the North Melbourne Football Club and what they stand for. I’m rapt to be coming here.”

Nahas played 83 games and kicked 100 goals in five years at Punt Road, but fell out of favour this season.

Now he gets another chance to prove himself, starting next week as the North travels to Utah for its high-altitude training camp.

“Everyone’s been so friendly and welcoming I’m sure I’ll fit in real quickly. I can’t wait to get to Utah and meet the boys.

“I’m looking forward to training hard and gaining the respect of my teammates.”

While Nahas’ 2013 wasn’t ideal from an on-field perspective, he did meet a team-mate who shared his experiences at Aegis Park.

“Aaron Edwards came from North to Richmond last year. He had high regards for the football club and told me that I was going to have a fantastic time and that they (the Kangaroos) were going to look after me.”

With North currently holding a three-game winning streak over Richmond, it’s no surprise the 25-year-old already holds a great respect for his new team-mates.

“I love the style of football. It’s fast, it’s quick. If I can add to the list and add depth or push for the best 22 I’m more than happy to do whatever it takes to help the football club.”
