Head of Development, Gavin Brown gives his insights on the best players from Saturday’s scratch match on the Gold Coast.

Don't forget to check out the highlights below, thanks to Comwire IT.

Tom Murphy

“He played inside in the midfield. He was really excited about it and performed really well. It’s another string to his bow, and great for his development.  A really good game.”

Majak Daw

“He’s making progress every week. It’s not perfect yet, but the more he plays the better he’ll get. He took some really strong marks and competed really well.”

Mason Wood

“He kicked four, and looked really dangerous and damaging. He played to his elite strengths, took the game on. He kicked accurately in front of goal, and had a really good day.”

Nick Larkey

“All we wanted him to do was get through the game, and he did that. He competed really well in the air and took some good grabs. A good starting point for him.”

Luke Davies-Uniacke

“He looked really sharp. He drove his legs out of congestion, and he’s got a great lateral step as we know. He was really damaging and was a standout. Like Nick (Larkey), we just wanted him to get through but he had a real impact on the game.”

Ben McKay and Sam Durdin

“Ben and Sam are improving each week. They were rock solid on the weekend.”

Aiden Bonar

“Aiden played in the backline again, and he looked really good. He worked well with Ben (McKay) and Sam (Durdin). He played a half as the emergency for the AFL.”

Tristan Xerri

“’X’ was good. He had a good opportunity against an AFL ruckman in Tom Bellchambers. He competed really strongly as he does every week.”
