5. Jamie Macmillan - Goal
Midway through the second quarter, North Melbourne had closed the gap on Sydney after a slow start. Aaron Edwards picks up the ball 50 metres out on the boundary line and rushes it forward to Macmillan. Under pressure, Macmillan handballs further forward to Leigh Adams who immediately gets tackled.
As the ball trickles towards the goal line, Macmillan has the presence of mind to throw his foot out and toes the ball through for a goal.
4. Lindsay Thomas - Mark and Goal
Lindsay Thomas marks the ball on the right forward flank, just outside the 50. Without any options inboard, he goes back, lines it up and makes a very difficult kick look tremendously easy.
3. Brent Harvey - Goal
With time winding down in the first half, a long ball comes in to a pack just outside 50. As it spills off hands to the back, Harvey is the first to react and sprints onto it near the boundary line. Lewis Jetta lays a tackle but is deemed to have pushed Harvey in the back, giving him a free kick from 45 metres out on the left forward flank.
In wet, greasy conditions, Harvey takes a couple of steps out and snaps, making no mistake.
2. Sam Wright - Goal-line Spoil
Early in the third quarter, Sydney is pushing to extend its lead of 17-points. Sam Reid breaks away from a pack and snaps on goal from 30 metres out. Wright, backtracking desperately, somehow manages to get a fist on the ball to save a certain goal.
1. Matt Campbell - Goal
As the final quarter drags on, North Melbourne is increasingly desperate. Drew Petrie throws the ball onto his boot and it bounces towards goal. Matt Campbell, under pressure from his Sydney opponent, kicks the ball out of mid-air for a quality goal.
