Good form has been rewarded by Brad Scott and the match committee with the same 22 that defeated St Kilda on Sunday selected.

A late withdrawal with a sore back last week, medical staff have erred on the side of caution once more with Scott Thompson.

"Scotty feels that he's right to play. Sometimes the match committee and the sports science team takes the decision out of players hands. He really wants to play and feels he's fit but we think the prudent thing to do is to give him another week on the training track," Scott said in the Interactive Team of the Week video.

After 34 possessions and 4 goals for North Ballarat, it was assumed Ben Cunnington would be right in the frame for a recall. Unfortunately he was suspended for one week by the VFL for tripping and is unavailable.

"He just had a terrific game at VFL level for North Ballarat and it's really been something we've been pleased with. A lot of the players we've left out of the AFL side have gone back and really responded.

"Unfortunately the VFL upheld his suspension. We know if he reproduces that form in the VFL he'll be back in the AFL side very soon."

Sam Gibson is another who has seemingly cemented his place in the team. Speaking about the mature-age recruit, Scott is pleased with the way he has carried himself.

"All Sam needed was an opportunity this year. Since he's come in he's given us some real run and he's a very disciplined player. I've got a lot of time for the way Gibbo approaches his footy and his persistence is paying off."
