0.20 remaining - A LATE TACKLE from Robbie Tarrant is penalised with a free kick downfield. David Armitage kicks a GOAL to help the Saints extend their advantage at the siren. Saints by 19.

END OF QUARTER: Despite North being on top in the early stages with its run-and-carry style, the Saints were quick to catch the Kangaroos on the counter. They dominated the second half of the term thanks to the efforts of David Armitage (12 disposals) and Jack Stevens (9 disposals)

The second quarter


19.10 remaining - Stephen Milne gets the Saints off to the perfect start to the second quarter with a snap GOAL. Saints by 26.

18.45 remaining - From a clearance, Lachlan Hansen marks strongly inside 50. He kicks an IMPORTANT GOAL. Saints by 20.

16.20 remaining - A dangerous kick from Sean Dempster across the face of goal is gathered by Sam Fisher. But he's not out of trouble yet - Leigh Adams takes him to the ground, before somehow stealing the ball out of his arms and getting the ball to boot for a CLEVER GOAL. Saints by 14.

8.20 remaining - After a scrappy period of play and several wasted opportunities from North, Liam Anthony kicks to the advantage of Drew Petrie who takes another strong mark. He kicks a GOAL to narrow the margin further. Saints by 8.

Ben McEvoy marks unopposed just 20m from the big sticks. He kicks another GOAL for St Kilda. Saints by 15.

2.50 remaining - Already with 13 disposals to his name, Leigh Adams roves brilliantly off a pack to boot his second GOAL. Saints by 9.

0.55 remaining - Jarryn Geary's high hit on Andrew Swallow sees the North captain receive a 50m penalty. Soon after a melee breaks out and the Kangaroos receive another 50m penalty. Swallow kicks the GOAL to narrow the margin to two points, while in the meantime Stephen Milne leaves the field minus a guernsey.

The third quarter

15.25 remaining - With the Saints seemingly unable to clear the ball from defence, North has the early ascendency in the second half. Leigh Adams long kick goes to a contest, but Drew Petrie somehow pulls down a SUPERB ONE-HANDED MARK. His GOAL puts North in front.

11.40 remaining - North has had all the play in the third quarter, and continues its dominance with another GOAL, this time through Daniel Wells.
6.10 remaining - Following a see-saw battle through the middle stages of the term, North gets a HANDY BREAK with a Daniel Wells pass landing on the chest of Robbie Tarrant. He kicks a GOAL. North by 16.

5.15 remaining - In need of a goal, the Saints get the ball into the arms of Jack Steven who kicks into the path of Stephen Milne. He runs in and kicks an easy GOAL. North by 8.

4.40 remaining - Sean Dempster's HEAVY TAG on Brent Harvey catches the eye of the umpire again as he gives away another free kick. Harvey's pass is perfect onto the chest of Lindsay Thomas. He kicks a GOAL from 30m.
