When North's fitness staff encouraged players to "go hard" during their boxing sparring session on Thursday morning, Scott McMahon held no punches.

It was his battle with Levi Greenwood which had everyone talking.

"Yeah it was a good fight - nil-all draw I reckon. He was bleeding, I was bleeding, we were both knackered at the end but it was good fun," McMahon told kangaroos.com.au straight after the two minute bout.
"Jona (Segal) said it was only straight punches but he's thrown a couple from about two metres behind him so I thought, 'Okay, so we're on here' - it was good fun though."

Earlier, McMahon was felled by a low blow from Matty Campbell after the pair wrestled for several seconds in their session.

McMahon was forced to squat and regain his composure before Campbell offered him a free punch - an invitation McMahon was quick to accept.
