Corey Jones will return to the North Melbourne side for its Round 3 clash against Hawthorn after the forward was named in the Kangaroos team.

Jones, who struggled with form in the pre-season, has fought back hard in recent weeks with some encouraging performances in the VFL and will be pushing to regain his spot in the North Melbourne forward line.

Tall forward Josh Smith will also get another chance after being replaced by Todd Goldstein for last week's match against the Bulldogs.

Smith, who took six marks in Round 1 has played three games for North Melbourne since debuting in 2008, but is best known for his heroics in the VFL Grand Final when he kicked five goals and took home the Norm Goss Medal for best on ground honours.
