The Archer-Hird Medal will be presented for the first-time on Easter Monday for the best player in the North Melbourne-Essendon Round 1 clash at the Dome.
The judging panel will each award a 3-2-1 voting card for the match which will decide the first Archer-Hird Medallist.
The lucky fan will be drawn on the day from the guests at the exclusive Chairman’s Function, which will be hosted by North Melbourne Chairman James Brayshaw and feature special guests Glenn Archer and James Hird.
Guests at the exclusive function will enjoy a scrumptious two-course meal complimented with half-time afternoon tea. Premium ales and wines will be served throughout the day. Premium reserved seating on Level 2 at the Dome is also included. Tickets are $250 plus GST.
The concept for the Archer-Hird Medal grew from the mutual admiration and respect shown by the two champions on the last occasion they met on the battlefield, with the medal to be awarded the first time the club’s battle each year to the player who epitomizes the values upheld by the legends.
Football fans agree that determination, courage, skill and loyalty are synonymous with both Glenn Archer and James Hird.
