At 172 centimetres and 75 kilograms, Brent Harvey could have been forgiven for shirking a Drew Petrie challenge during a boxing session at Aegis Park on Friday.

But despite being almost a foot smaller than Petrie and giving away 27 kilograms, Harvey was not intimidated.

The captain and vice-captain traded blows in a light-hearted sparring match - one of a series of bouts during rotation exercises aimed at testing the players physically.

With a reputation as one of the club's best pound-for-pound athletes, Harvey punched above his weight like he's done so many times in his illustrious 323-game career.

Bragging rights among team-mates were on the line, but it was all smiles at the end of the bout as Harvey and Petrie eyed their next opponents.
