The first quarter
19.45 remaining - From the first bounce, North clears to half-forward where it's marked by Kieran Harper. Andrew Rained runs over the mark and gives away a 50m penalty. Harper kicks the first GOAL of the day. North by 6.
15.20 remaining - From the boundary throw-in, Sam Wright receives a free kick for a hold. He kicks a GOAL to extend the lead. North by 13.

11.30 remaining - North has the run of play, but the Lions strike back through a mark and GOAL to Aaron Cornelius. North by 14. Michael Firrito and Andrew Swallow lead the possession count with five each.
9.20 remaining - Working well on the rebound, Brisbane gets its second GOAL through Jack Redden. North by 8.
8.10 remaining - Having missed an opportunity for a goal only seconds earlier, North kicks its fourth from the following play. From a ball-up 20m out, the Lions handball dangerously into the goal square. Jack Ziebell soccer attempt proves fruitless, but Drew Petrie doesn't make the same mistake and kicks a great GOAL. 4.55 remaining - Andrew Swallow is caught high direcctly in front of the big sticks. He kicks a GOAL to extend the margin further. North by 26.
0.20 remaining - With the final play of the quarter, Brisbane moves into attack. A long kick is marked by Jonathan Brown right on the goal-line. He kicks a GOAL from a tight angle. North by 20.
END OF QUARTER: Having dominated much of the first quarter, North would go into the first change content with a 20-point lead, but would be disappointed with allowing Jonathan Brown space late. Michael Firrito was a fine performer in the first term, while Drew Petrie has proven dangerous in attack. Andrew Swallow has been at his best, already amassing nine possessions.

10.35 remaining - After Brisbane kicks its first of the quarter, enter Aaron Black. He snaps his THIRD GOAL for the day to continue a terrific comeback match. North by 57.

7.00 remaining - Daniel Rich kicks another GOAL for the Lions and the margin is narrowed further. North by 44.
5.40 remaining - Aaron Cornelius narrows the margin to just 33 with the Lions fourth GOAL in a row.
2.55 remaining - Daniel Merrett provides the highlight of the day for Brisbane, smothering a Scott Thompson kick before putting through his first GOAL. North by 26.
END OF QUARTER: The Lions finish the third quarter strongly and reduce the margin to just 26 points with the last five goals. Todd Goldstein continues his terrific game with 20 disposals up until the final change, while Nathan Grima was also strong in defence despite Brisbane's domination.

0.45 remaining - Kept reasonably quiet by his standards thanks to some great defensive work by Luke Delaney, Jonathan Brown chimes in with a late GOAL. North by 22.
END OF GAME: North Melbourne doesn't finish the game as well as it started, but more importantly got the four points on the day. Todd Goldstein's effort in the ruck was a stand-out, while Levi Greenwood and Drew Petrie were both strong performers. Aaron Black had a memorable return to the senior team, booting three goals and dishing off several assists to team-mates.
