Set to finish in the early months of 2013, the new oval at Aegis Park will be the same size of Etihad Stadium upon completion and new lighting, seating, coach’s boxes and benches will be installed.

It means some of North's pre-season training will take place elsewhere during the summer months.

The grass growing period is expected to take around two months, before the players step out onto the new and improved surface.
