North Melbourne coach Brad Scott considers Saturday’s clash against Hawthorn as one of the most significant games of the season so far.

Speaking at a packed media conference at the offices of the club’s Tasmanian partner RACT, Scott told reporters a strong performance from his team is a must leading into the mid-season break.

"It's a really important game for a number of reasons. Firstly, the position we find ourselves in, trying to square the ledger and our win-loss ratio is pretty important to us going into the bye next weekend,” Scott said.

”It's a critical game for us against the touted premiership favourite (Hawthorn). They've still got all their talent in their side and apart from a little hiccup last week I think they're still one of the premier teams in the competition.”

The Kangaroos are set to line up as selected after Jack Ziebell got through a full session at Aegis Park on Friday.

"Everyone’s pulled up really well. Jack was the only player under a little bit of a cloud but he trained really strongly today and he'll take his place in the side.

"Aaron Mullett is our travelling emergency."

Scott spoke highly of the support of the Tasmanian public as the club prepares for its second match in the state this year.

“North Melbourne has been blown away by the support we've been given from the people here and we really think there’s a huge growth opportunity for us down here, but more importantly, we think it's a great opportunity for the people of all parts of Tasmania to come and watch the highest level of AFL footy.

“We're certainly pleased to come down here every chance possible. I think it's really important that the fight is on for the hearts and minds of the Tasmanian people.”

North Melbourne will play another home fixture at Hobart’s Blundstone Arena in Round 15 against the Eagles.
