Ranked 3rd in total hitouts

kangaroos.com.au says

Goldstein had an up-and-down year after his superb 2011. The return of Hamish McIntosh impacted his role slightly in the early rounds and the resultant slump in form led to him spending a week in the VFL.

However a mammoth 64 hitouts for North Ballarat meant his time in the twos was brief and with the subsequent injury to McIntosh, Goldstein reprised his role as sole ruckman.

He flourished with little support and was soon back to his old ways, posting huge hitout numbers and giving the North midfield first use more often than not.
