As we pass the halfway mark of the 2020 AFL season, let's take a look at some of North Melbourne’s best performers on the stat sheet.

Goals

Cam Zurhaar leads the way for the Roos with 11 goals from 8 games, including three last time out against the Crows.

Ben Brown (8) and Aaron Hall (6) are the next best in front of goal.

Hall continues to grow into a mid-forward role, and he has registered the equal-most goal assists for North with 5, alongside Jed Anderson.

Anderson’s influence can’t be understated, and his 5.4 score involvements per game is the most of any Roo.

Disposals

Veteran Shaun Higgins continues to show his class, leading the Roos for disposals with 192. 36 of those came in the round nine loss to Richmond, a season-high.

Trent Dumont (187) and Jy Simpkin (182) continue to develop nicely, and they sit second and third respectively.

Simpkin’s game has gone up another level in 2020, and he sits second for contested possessions with 92, five behind Todd Goldstein (97).

Stoppages

Goldstein continues to put up numbers more befitting of an inside-midfielder than a ruckman, leading the competition for clearances with 60. Simpkin (47) is next best for the Roos in that department.

The number 22 also has the second most hit-outs in the AFL (292), only behind Brodie Grundy.

Marks

New recruit Josh Walker has made a defensive spot his own, with his marking a highlight. His 37 marks is the most North, with Shaun Atley and Robbie Tarrant two back on 35.

17 of Walker’s marks have been contested, the fifth-most in the competition.

Defence

While it’s perhaps a surprise to Jed Anderson lead the club for score involvements, there’s no surprise he’s making the most tackles (5.4). Trent Dumont is next best with 4.2 per game.

Robbie Tarrant leads the way for spoils with 42, but Ben McKay’s output has also been impressive since his inclusion. His 6.7 per game is the sixth-most of any player in the competition to have played at least three games.
