With a long injury list and several players facing tests to prove their fitness, another interesting week at the selection table looms.

Rhyce Shaw has hinted at more changes, with North keen to give its youngsters a chance to prove themselves at the highest level.

"I think with six games to go, we're going to find out a lot about our players and our list,” Shaw said post-match on Sunday.

Jamie Macmillan has headed home for the birth of his child, meaning at least one change is certain, while the likes of Jed Anderson (eye), Ben Brown (knee) and Robbie Tarrant (corked calf) will need to get through training.

North Media looks at those in the mix for a call-up.

Forwards

Lachie Hosie showed encouraging signs in his debut a fortnight ago, booting two goals, and will be keen for another chance.

Will Walker will be refreshed and ready to go, after missing the clash against Melbourne. He was a solid performer in his first game in almost two years.

Tristan Xerri is waiting in the wings, if one of the Roos’ talls like Tarrant, Josh Walker (corked calf) or Ben Brown (knee) don’t come up.

The versatility of the likes of Majak Daw and Walker means North can shuffle the decks at either end of the ground.

Mason Wood has had a tough year, but will be desperate to get back in and is a proven goal-kicker at AFL level.

Midfielders

The skills of Paul Ahern could be handy in a midfield that struggled to hit targets last week.

Tom Murphy has been used through the midfield during several scratch matches, and is ready to play.

If Daw isn’t passed fit, Tom Campbell could come in as a backup ruckman to provide Todd Goldstein a chop-out, and provide a target in attack.

Defenders

Marley Williams has had the job on Charlie Cameron and done a great job in previous years, so could be called in for a specific role. He's a like-for-like replacement for Macmillan.

Kyron Hayden has been managed over the last couple of weeks, and will need to prove he’s right to go to be considered.

Ed Vickers-Willis has been back with the main group for several weeks now.
