Every week, we'll be heading into the archive to recap some of the great games throughout North Melbourne's rich history.

This week, we take you back to Round 8, 2008, and a memorable match against Collingwood at Docklands.

Chasing a spot in the top eight, the Roos started slowly in front of a bumper Friday night crowd of 46,610.

Collingwood started the better of the two sides, leading at the first two changes.

But a big second-half would see North prevail by 18 points.

Drew Petrie put in an outstanding performance across the ground, recording 20 disposals, 11 marks, 2 goals, as well as 26 hitouts, earning him the three Brownlow votes.

Brent Harvey (27 disposals) and Daniel Wells (27 disposals) got the Roos going in midfield, while Corey Jones booted 3 majors.

A young Todd Goldstein would also pop-up with two goals, while a familiar face in Rhyce Shaw was on the opposition side, collecting 19 disposals for the Pies.
