North Melbourne will notch up a special milestone on Sunday night, with the match against Gold Coast set to be its 2000th in the VFL/AFL.Â
North started life in the VFL with an 8-point win over Geelong in 1925, and after 1999 games, it holds an 887-1095 win/loss record, with 17 draws. Â
Since their inception, the Roos have won four premierships (1975, 1977, 1996, 1999), with some of the greatest players to have played the game calling the club home.
Remarkably, VFL/AFL games record holder Brent Harvey has played in 21.6% of all North games.
