In recent clashes with Geelong, North has struggled to kick goals averaging just over eight per match in the last three contests while conceding an average of just under 30 scoring shots. With that in mind it's no surprise key position players at both ends are in line for a recall.
Aaron Black
North Ballarat used Black's second half performance as a springboard for its win over Collingwood on Saturday. With forward pressure a key against the Geelong backline, Black's efforts in tallying 11 one percenters and five tackles could be what earns him a call-up.
Luke Delaney
On the fringe, Delaney was again impressive for North Ballarat on the weekend. Against a taller opponent in ruckman Jarrod Witts, Delaney negated his impact and provided rebound from the back half.
Tom Hawkins and James Podsiadly cut ominous figures and Delaney could be brought in to deal with either of the twin towers.
Lachlan Hansen
Making his comeback from a hamstring injury, Hansen impressed for Werribee. His four goals and 10 marks indicated there was no lingering doubt over his fitness. In the absence of Matthew Scarlett, the Geelong defence could possibly be stretched for height. The return of Hansen could be a vital piece.
Other contenders
Cruize Garlett picked up 23 touches for North Ballarat, while Ben Mabon had 18 hitouts and 10 possessions. Playing off half-back for the Roosters, Gavin Urquhart had 17 disposals.
For Werribee, Levi Greenwood had 20 touches with Malcolm Lynch applying great pressure around the ground on the way to 16.
