North Melbourne has fallen to a 59-point loss at the hands of the Gold Coast Suns.

The Roos were on the backfoot from the start of the game, with the home team bouncing out of the blocks and opening up a 14-point lead at the first change.

While Bailey Scott and Jed Anderson were busy, the likes of Noah Anderson and Touk Miller were strong through the midfield, as the Suns opened up a 44-point margin by the main break.

North fought hard in the third term and outscored their opponents, as Anderson, Jy Simpkin and Shaun Atley all found plenty of the footy.

It was too little, too late though, with Gold Coast prevailing by close to ten goals in front of around 6,600 fans.

Anderson racked up the fourth-highest tackle tally in North's history, laying 14 for the night, to go with 27 disposals.

Simpkin finished with 26 touches, while Jack Ziebell battled all night in defence, despite being carried off by two trainers during the third term. He later returned to the game.

Aiden Bonar was a good performer in the defensive half, alongside Aidan Corr.
