David Noble has urged North Melbourne fans to get behind a great cause and secure their seats to the “Kick for the Kids” game.

The Kangaroos will take on the Dogs at Marvel Stadium, the game to be played in support of the Good Friday Appeal which raises much needed funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Noble said it was the highlight of the fixture.

“To have an opportunity to coach in an Easter Friday game against the Bulldogs and support such a great cause is pretty exciting,” Noble told North Media.

“We’ve all probably been involved or had some sort of tragedy in our lives and to be able to support children and their families, to get in touch and to have that awareness.

“What we do is important but what they’re going through is significant. To be able to help to raise some funds to be able to make that journey for some of the patients and their families easier, then that’s the least we can do and that’s a great opportunity for us.

“I think it [the game] adds an element of understanding for our players, it’s not just about sport, it’s a bigger cause than just going out there and playing AFL.”

Noble has encouraged fans to also come and support a game the club has fought hard to secure. It will be the fourth time the club has competed in the game, with last year’s blockbuster canceled due to Covid-19.

“We fought really hard to get this game, the players are aware of that and they want to make sure they come ready to play,” he said.

“If our fans turn up and cheer us on, it's something we’re looking forward to, we just love as many people to turn up and support the cause but come and cheer us on.

“I think it gets understated sometimes, the importance for Charlie Lazzaro and Tom Powell to play in front of probably our biggest crowd for the year.

“To get that experience is probably as close as what you can get to apart from playing finals. These big occasions are significant I think it adds great experience for those guys to play in those games and I think they learn lots as a result of playing in these occasions.”
