Traditionally an exciting forward or wing player, Atu Bosenavulagi arrived at North Melbourne ahead of the 2021 season, making the move from Collingwood along with Jaidyn Stephenson.

In his two seasons at Collingwood Bosenavulagi played three games, impressing with his raw pace and athleticism in multiple attacking roles.

North Melbourne debut: Round 5, 2021

2021: After training with the forward group for much of the 2021 pre-season, David Noble and his coaching staff elected to trial Bosenavulagi in defence, where he quickly established himself as an effective rebounding option out of the back half.

Having impressed at VFL level, he made his North debut in Round 5 against Geelong, where he collecting 16 disposals and laid 3 tackles in what was an exciting, yet raw performance.

He was released back to the VFL side after Round 7, with the stop/start nature of the Covid affected season proving to be frustrating in his attempts to get back into the senior side.

Bosenavulagi regained his spot in the team ahead of Round 18, before playing a starring role in the victory over Carlton with 16 disposals at 94 per cent efficiency and 6 intercepts.

Kicking his first career goal the following week against Geelong, he once again found himself out of the side, before returning for Round 23.

After improving rapidly in his new defensive role across the season, Bosenavulagi will be hoping for consistent football at either senior or reserve level to allow him to become more comfortable in the back half of the ground, however the potential he has shown to become a line-breaking half back flanker is certainly exciting.
