North Melbourne has made a pair of changes to its VFLW side for Saturday afternoon's clash with Box Hill.

Dangerous forward Nyakoat Dojiok slots back into the team after missing last Friday's win over Port Melbourne due to being selected to represent an U23 All-Stars side that was matched up against the AFL National Academy Girls team that weekend.

Joining her is defender Tricia Cowan, who also returns to the line-up after not featuring in Round 12.

Amanda Ling makes way having picked up a one-game suspension, as does small forward Aisling Tupper, who ruptured her ACL against Port Melbourne.

A win over the Hawks would seal a finals berth for the Kangas, who are on the verge of solidifying their spot in their first ever VFLW finals series.

North Melbourne v Box Hill at Arden Street Oval, 2.00pm AEST

North Melbourne has defeated Box Hill by nine points to claim its fifth successive win and book its spot in its first ever VFLW finals series.

After grabbing the lead three minutes into the opening quarter, the Kangas never looked back on its way to a 7.4 (46) to 5.7 (37) victory.

They looked golden when Tahlia Meier (16 disposals, one goal) got out the back and slotted a major on the cusp of the three-quarter time siren to put her side up by 22 points, but two quick goals from the visitors to start the fourth quarter made things tight.

But in the 14th minute, it was lively forward Nyakoat Dojiok who mustered some greatness from the goal line to snag the settler and ultimately the sealer.

"It was a really special moment for us today," Gourley told NMFC Media.

"I've only been involved in the VFLW program for a year, but for some of the people that have been here for a lot longer than me I was so proud and pleased to be able to play a part in helping the team get there.

"(I'm) really excited for the girls, and the girls within the team that have never played finals before ... but there's still a lot of hard work ahead of us."

Back from representing the U23 All-Stars, it was Dojiok who kicked the first goal of the contest, using her speed and athleticism - which caused problems for Box Hill's backline all day - to wrap around onto her right boot before putting it through.

Midfielder Alana Barba (22 disposals, nine tackles) then got in on the action, showing her strength and skill by fending off a Hawks defender to create space and kicking North Melbourne's second.

The Roos controlled possession for the majority of the first quarter, with their defensive setup not allowing any quick Hawks ball movement out of the backline.

Box Hill's Cassie Davidson pounced on a Kangas' turnover late in the term, but it was North Melbourne who hit back in the second through Renee Tierney and Emily Paterno who both slotted opportunistic goals from close range.

The Hawks stayed in the match though, again finding a late major through Gabrielle Collingwood before the half-time break. 

The visitors carried that momentum into the second half but North Melbourne's lead proved insurmountable, particularly after Dojiok kicked her third and Meier her first late in the third term.

"We continue to focus on different things each week, we try to identify issues or growth areas in our game, we continue to get better and continue to bring our strengths each week," Gourley said.

"It's really nice to get some consecutive wins and some consistency in the way in which we've been playing, but we want to continue to get better and there will be a lot of learnings out of today as well."

Averaging 20 disposals in her last five games, Tierney followed up her strong form in this second half of the season, collecting a game high 22 disposals to go along with one goal and eight tackles. 

"Renee has been incredible for us, I'm so proud of what she’s been able to do," Gourley said.

"We started her forward in the year and there was an opportunity for her to come up and play on ball and she’s taken to it so well, she's a competitive beast, she's an outstanding user and just a brilliant person and great leader of the group as well."

The Roos will close out the home and away season by hosting the Western Bulldogs at Arden Street Oval next weekend, before embarking on their inaugural finals campaign.
