North Melbourne has named its squad for Saturday's AAMI Community Series clash against West Coast in Bunbury.

Recruit Luke Parker (managed) comes out of the line-up that faced Melbourne in a match simulation at Arden Street Oval last Saturday.

Captain Jy Simpkin (virus) also won't make the trip to Western Australia, but is expected to be fully recovered in time for the club's Round 1 match against the Western Bulldogs.

After taking on Casey in a VFL practice game, half-backs Riley Hardeman and Miller Bergman come into the 28-man AFL squad, as does ruck-forward Brynn Teakle.

Talls Taylor Goad, Finnbar Maley and Kallan Dawson, alongside forward Eddie Ford, have been named as emergencies.

Bouncedown is 6.10pm AEDT on Saturday, March 1 (3.10pm local time).

The Kangaroos will return to Hands Oval for their Round 13 home game against the Eagles in early June, before hosting Fremantle at Optus Stadium in Round 14, as part of the club's three-year Western Australia agreement.

Tickets for those matches will be on sale from Wednesday, March 12.

An inaccurate North Melbourne has completed its pre-season preparations with a narrow two-point loss to West Coast at Hands Oval in Bunbury.

The Kangaroos outplayed the Eagles for much of Saturday's clash in WA's south-west, but the home side lifted in the final quarter to win 11.5 (71) to 9.15 (69), with Liam Baker's booming 55m goal sealing the victory.

The Eagles were ambushed in the midfield in the first quarter and struggled to get the game played in their half for long periods, entering the main break with just 12 inside 50s to 27. 

Star midfielder Harry Sheezel was excellent, kicking a 50m running goal to highlight the type of form he will enter the season with. The young gun combined with Tom Powell (25 and a goal) and Colby McKercher (24 and four clearances) to drive the Roos' best passages. 

Jack Darling looked motivated against his former teammates and created plenty of opportunities as the Roos dominated inside 50s (16-3) and clearances (13-4) in the first quarter.

After Sheezel and Powell steadied the ship in the third, Luke Davies-Uniacke provided a highlight in the fourth when he crumbed and dodged three tackles to snap a brilliant goal that gave North a 12-point lead. 

The Eagles rallied, however, and kicked unanswered goals through the brilliant Jake Waterman, wingman Jayden Hunt, and then Baker to give their fans something to celebrate. 

The Roos will head west again in Round 13 and 14 for back-to-back WA games, with tickets on sale from Wednesday, March 12.

New faces
Former Eagle Jack Darling was recruited to take the pressure off Nick Larkey and looked in excellent shape, presenting strongly but not finishing off his work. Former Sydney small forward Jacob Konstanty provided excellent pressure and played with intensity in the front half, while prized draftee Finn O'Sullivan shone with his ability to intercept and then burst forward and get involved in scoring chains.

Round 1 chance 
North Melbourne small forward Robert Hansen jnr looks an improved player and was composed with the ball in the front half, showing he has a role to play in 2025. It would be a shock if No.2 draft pick Finn O'Sullivan hasn't earned an immediate debut.
