Williamstown delivered North Melbourne Werribee's second loss of the season, winning by 37 points at DSV Stadium on Saturday morning.

In a match pitting first against second on the VFLW ladder, the Seagulls won 9.4 (58) to 3.3 (21).

Williamstown got off to a hot start against the Roos, kicking five goals to one in the first half.

The Kangaroos were given hope at the start of the second half by a goal from AFLW-listed recruit Maddison Torpey, but they couldn't capitalise, conceding the next four goals to face a 45-point deficit at three-quarter time.

Ava Seton starred for the Roos in the defeat, collecting 16 disposals and 19 tackles - the most by any player in the 2026 VFLW season.

Captain Renee Tierney and midfielder Alana Barba both collected 23 disposals each, and also registered 19 tackles between them.

North Melbourne Werribee were dominated in the territory game early, conceding 23 inside 50s to three in the first half.

After the loss, North Melbourne Werribee’s match against Collingwood next week becomes even more important in the hunt for a top-two ladder position.
