North Melbourne Kangaroos chief executive officer Ben Amarfio has called on Roos fans to "show up in force" for the club's blockbuster Good Friday game against the Western Bulldogs in season 2022.

The Kangaroos appear set to host the public holiday fixture for the third year running against the Bulldogs, after meeting Essendon on Good Friday in 2019 and St Kilda in 2018.

This year's match will be played in mid or late afternoon on April 15 at Marvel Stadium.

"We're hopeful the Victorian and North Melbourne members and also Bulldogs fans show up in force," Amarfio said.

The Good Friday game is quickly gaining a reputation for being about more than football, with both clubs working hard in the lead-up to raise much-needed funds for the Royal Children's Hospital as part of the Good Friday Appeal.

Kangaroos set for MCG opener

Good Friday is the second date Roos fans can ink into their 2022 calendars after Hawthorn was confirmed as the club's round one opponent last week.

The Kangaroos will be the away side for their season opener in a 1.10pm AEDT clash with the Hawks at the MCG on Sunday, March 20.

It will be the first time the Roos have played in front of a crowd at the MCG in almost three years, since round three, 2019.

The AFL expects to release the rest of the 2022 fixture later this week.
