Jy Simpkin during the Roos' win over Gold Coast in Hobart in Round 15, 2021

North Melbourne fans can start pencilling more matchdays into their calendars, including two home games in Tasmania.

Along with the Round 1 match against Hawthorn and the Good Friday clash with the Western Bulldogs, the club can announce three more games as the full 2022 AFL fixture release approaches.

The Kangaroos will travel to Hobart for a Round 6 meeting with Geelong at Blundstone Arena on Sunday, April 24 at 1.10pm EST.

Another trip to Tassie is confirmed for Round 19, when the Roos will host Hawthorn at Blundstone on the weekend beginning July 24.

Round 12 sees the Kangaroos travel to TIO Stadium in Darwin to take on Gold Coast on the weekend beginning June 3.

The AFL expects to release the rest of the 2022 fixture later on Thursday. While the early rounds will be fully fixtured, the back half of the home-and-away season is expected to be left 'floating', with match-ups and venues locked in but timeslots to be confirmed closer to the dates.

There are 101 days until the Kangaroos play old foes Hawthorn in the club's season opener in a 1.10pm AEDT clash at the MCG. It will be the first time the Roos have played in front of the Kangaroos faithful at the MCG in almost three years, since round three, 2019.
