The North Melbourne Kangaroos have reached a new membership record of 46,401 so far in 2022, surpassing the club’s previous record of 46,357, set only last year.

The milestone comes after the club surpassed 3,000 AFLW members, with a record 3,054 members also signing up.

With the continued support of members and fans, the club’s 50,000 membership target is within reach for the first time in its 153-year history.

"The faith and support from our members has been remarkable and it reinforces to us how special and loyal our supporters are," North Melbourne Chief Executive Ben Amarfio said.

"Our members have embraced getting back to the footy, we saw that as they turned out in force to support the team on Good Friday.

"While we know it’s tough right now, our ask is that our supporters stick with us and our long term strategy while we continue to add more talent and develop our young list.

"As we move towards building sustained success in our men’s and women’s football programs, bolster off-field security and build a solid future base at Arden Street, our members are critically important.

"Rebuilds take time and we are experiencing that right now. We are grateful our members are joining us on that journey and showing patience.

"We have five home games at Marvel Stadium and three home games in Tasmania across the remainder of the season and we’re looking forward to seeing our faithful supporters in the stands.

"Our members are our most important asset as a football club. We thank each and every one of you."
