North Melbourne’s Jess Duffin will depart Arden Street after signing with an AFLW expansion club.

A dual sportswoman, Duffin juggled a successful cricket career with AFLW. After a stint at Collingwood (2017-2018), Duffin joined the Kangaroos ahead of the club’s first season in the competition in 2019.

Earning All-Australian honours in 2019, Duffin gave birth to daughter Georgie in 2020 before returning to the field in 2021.

The 32-year-old played a total of 19 games in the blue and white across her four years at Arden Street.

"Given the nature of the AFLW expansion environment, player movement is inevitable, so we fully understand Jess’s decision to seek a new opportunity," AFLW Football Performance & Talent Manager Rhys Harwood said.

"Jess has been an integral member of the club from our first season in 2019, and has played a key role in establishing and growing our AFLW Program both on and off the field.

"A fantastic contributor to our team and culture, we have no doubt Jess will be a huge asset for any organisation she is a part of going forward.

"We wish 'Duff' nothing but the best with her new opportunity. Jess, Chris and Georgie will always be welcome at Arden Street."
