An X-factor forward that oozes class, Harry Sheezel was selected by the Kangaroos with their first pick of the 2022 AFL Draft. With exceptional smarts and sharp instincts around goal, the youngster from Ajax Football Club has the ability to create something from nothing inside 50.

Sheezel was a Vic Metro representative this year and will come into the AFL system after kicking 49 total goals across all competitions this season, including four in the NAB League Grand Final.

Standing at 182cm, George Wardlaw is a tough, competitive onballer with a tremendous defensive work-rate. With power one of his key traits, Wardlaw is able to consistently get his hands on the ball at stoppages and drive away from congestion with force.

Mostly dealing with a hamstring issue, the inside midfielder featured three times for the Oakleigh Chargers in the NAB League this season but was impressively impactful enough to confirm his credentials as a top-four draft pick.

Taken with pick No.26, George is a mercurial forward who was a highly touted player leading into the draft before an untimely ACL injury saw his campaign cut short.

Considered by many as a potential top-10 selection, George has a lightning-quick first step and is a commanding presence in the forward line, despite not being overly tall. Although he's expected to miss the bulk of his debut season at Arden Street, the Murray Bushrangers product has enormous upside which was too exciting to pass up on.

Son of legendary Roo Brent Harvey, Cooper Harvey arrives at North as the club's fourth current father-son selection, after Luke McDonald, Bailey Scott and Jackson Archer. A 180cm midfielder/forward, Cooper Harvey possesses clean hands around the contest and has a sturdy frame that allows him to bustle his way into traffic and extract the football.

The 18-year-old managed eight games for NAB League's Northern Knights this season and worked his way into a stacked Victoria Metro line-up for the U18 National Championships decider in September.

Drafted with the first selection of the 2022 Rookie Draft from the Oakleigh Chargers, Blake Drury is a small forward/midfielder with leadership qualities and a high footballing IQ.

Thanks to his football smarts, composure and high work-rate, Drury notched terrific numbers playing for the Chargers, finishing the 2022 season with an average of 18.7 disposals per game while averaging 19 per game for Victoria Metro throughout the Under-18s National Championships. Unlucky to not be taken during the National Draft, Drury now finds himself with the opportunity to display his football smarts as a rookie.

A hard-working tall, Hamish Free has spent the past two years playing for South Fremantle in the WAFL, where he played 29 senior games, including 18 this year. After taking on the role as No.1 ruck in 2022, the 24-year-old was an imposing force averaging just over 42 hitouts per game as well as 12.2 possessions.

With his experience at senior level, Free could prove to be a valuable addition to North's up and coming side.

A midfielder who can play a multitude of roles, Daniel Howe registered 96 games over eight years for Hawthorn after being drafted in the second round of the 2014 National Draft. Of those eight years, Howe spent seven of them under Alastair Clarkson who he will be able to reunite with upon his arrival at Arden Street.

With plenty of young guns coming into the club, Howe at 26 years old and with almost 100 games of experience will fill an age gap on the Kangaroos' list.

After being delisted after the 2022 season, North Melbourne chose to rookie list the experienced Kayne Turner. The 2021 Harold Henderson Best Clubman Award winner has played 118 games for the club since arriving in late 2013, including 17 in 2022.

Having strong leadership qualities, as well as the unique ability to play as either a traditional small forward, a tagger in the guts, or a lockdown defender, always has Turner in the mix for senior selection.
