The AFL has announced that Todd Goldstein will be a life member inductee this year thanks to his services to Australian Football.
Goldstein, who was drafted by North Melbourne in 2006, automatically qualified for life membership having recorded 295 premiership games, as well as 19 pre-season games, over his career so far.
Throughout his 16, going on 17 years as a Kangaroo, Goldstein's consistency on-field performance and attitude off it has seen him become one of the club's most beloved characters.
He cemented his spot as one of the competition's greatest ever big men in 2021 after breaking the all-time hitouts record, surpassing former Fremantle player Aaron Sandilands' total of 8,502.
At club level, Goldstein is a Syd Barker medallist (2015), two-time All-Australian (2015 & 2016) and, given he plays the opening four matches in 2023, will become the sixth Roo in history to play 300 games in Round 5.
The AFL Commission confirmed his inclusion at its meeting late last year and the new life members will be welcomed and honoured at the Season Launch in Melbourne on Thursday, March 9.
