North Melbourne will take 34 players into its match simulation against Richmond on Friday morning, with new faces including Griffin Logue and Harry Sheezel to feature in front of the Arden Street crowd.

Prized national draft pick Sheezel, versatile ex-Fremantle defender Logue, and top rookie draft selection Blake Drury are all locked in to appear in the blue and white for the first time after impressing in last weekend's intraclub match.

Veteran Liam Shiels and mobile ruck Hamish Free will also join the aforementioned trio for their first clashes as Kangaroos against external AFL opposition.

Co-captain Jy Simpkin, along with stalwarts Ben Cunnington and Todd Goldstein, are being rested and won't participate on Friday as the club continues to manage game time for all players across the pre-season hitouts.

However, fans will have the opportunity to observe the returns of Aidan Corr, Curtis Taylor, Aaron Hall and Josh Goater who were all absent last Saturday.

Both Corr and Taylor have overcome their respective calf complaints and will re-join the playing group, as will rebounding defender Hall who has been dealing with Achilles soreness over summer.

Slated for a 10am bouncedown, the match simulation will consist of four 25-minute periods, followed by two 20-minute periods with no time on at any point.

There will also be periods throughout the hitout where both teams will simulate the last two minutes of a real game. VFL-listed players will be called upon during the two 20-minute periods.
