St Kilda coach Scott Watters says captain Nick Riewoldt is a certainty to play against North Melbourne on Sunday, shelving rumours he'd be out with an ongoing calf injury.

“He wouldn’t be playing if there was an injury…he’s fine, he’s good to go,” Watters said on Saturday.

“We’re really pleased that Nick’s available, but we’ve been pretty focused on our team results this year, and our forward line playing as a team. He’s a key ingredient and a key part of that.”

While the Kangaroos will be looking to notch a win against the Saints for the first time since 2009, Watters is confident his men will get the job done and extend their dominance.

“For us, and for North, (this game) is an opportunity.

“An opportunity to get another four points, an opportunity to build up momentum on the back of a break.

“So we’re really looking forward to a good contest against a side that’s in really good form.”

Both club's are boasting healthy lists meaning there'll be no excuses come the final siren.

“We’re pretty close to having a full list available and we think we’ve really developed our depth this year, so it might just give us the opportunity when those players are feeling a little tired or fatigued to give them a break. Terry (Milera) has probably fallen just outside of that at the moment.”

Watters is wary of the Roos' swift ball movement and knows they have their tails up after beating the Crows.

“I think all sides like to control the way the ball’s being moved. They’re a very good side in a very good form. I thought they were terrific against Adelaide, they like to play a high possession brand of football against a side that plays that way defensively you need to be right on your game. We know that we need to be sharp in that area.”
