North Melbourne forward Paul Curtis has claimed his second AFL Goal of the Year nomination in as many weeks after his stunning boundary line effort against Sydney on Saturday.

The young Roo gained possession while on the ground just inside the 50-metre arc and proceeded to fend off Swans defenders Robbie Fox and Nick Blakey before wowing the crowd with a first-quarter major from a tight angle.

The nomination comes a week on from when he crafted a brilliant left-foot dribbler 20 metres out from goal against the Power to also put his name in contention for GOTY.

Competing against Curtis this week is Brisbane's Zac Bailey and Richmond's Shai Bolton.
