NORTH Melbourne chairman James Brayshaw will host Tasmanian Premier Lara Giddings and a raft of local industry heavyweights at the Kangaroos' function before Saturday's clash with West Coast at Hobart's Blundstone Arena.

Brayshaw was widely criticised last month for missing a Hawthorn function attended by Giddings and AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou before the round 10 Hawks-North game at Launceston's Aurora Stadium.

Brayshaw could not attend that function because of pre-match radio commitments with Triple M, but watched the Roos lose by 115 points from a statistician's box at the ground.

On Saturday, Brayshaw will not be part of Triple M's coverage of the Melbourne-Richmond clash at the MCG.

In addition to Giddings, North's pre-match function will be attended by AFL chairman Mike Fitzpatrick, acting AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan, Hobart Lord Mayor Alderman Damon Thomas, RACT group chief executive Harvey Lennon, Spirit of Tasmania chairman Michael Grainger, TT Line director Denis Rogers and former Australian Test cricket captain Ricky Ponting.

Two-time North Melbourne premiership player Brent Croswell will present the medal struck in his name to the player judged best on ground.
