Four Roos have joined Cooper Harvey in North Melbourne's squad for its Sunday date with Geelong at GMHBA Stadium.

Cooper found out on Thursday morning that he was going to make his AFL debut when his dad and AFL games record-holder Brent Harvey gave him the heart-warming news.

After consecutive eye-catching performances in the VFL, ruck Tristan Xerri is in line to play his first senior game since going down in Round 1 due to an ankle syndesmosis injury.

Joining Xerri in the extended squad are defenders Flynn Perez and Lachie Young, with latter in the frame for his first AFL game of the campaign.

Young midfielder Charlie Lazzaro has entered consideration as well, after gathering 25 disposals and kicking a goal against Williamstown in the reserves last round.

Hardened onballer Hugh Greenwood remains in the squad after serving Round 16 as the substitute. Veteran Liam Shiels has made way due to a calf/plantaris issue while Will Phillips has been omitted.

The 22-player team will be confirmed on Friday afternoon at 5pm AEST.
