Midfielder Dylan Stephens is officially a Roo after North Melbourne and Sydney agreed to a trade.
The Roos receive Stephens, along with this year’s pick No.25 (currently tied to Hawthorn).
The Roos will hand over a future end-of-first-round selection (currently pick No.19 in the 2024 AFL Draft) and the club’s 2023 third-round selection (currently pick No.44).
A top-five pick in 2019, Stephens has played 43 games across four seasons for the Swans, including the 2022 AFL Grand Final and a standout 27-disposal performance against Gold Coast in Round 1 this year.
North Melbourne general manager of football Todd Viney said the club was excited to secure the 22-year-old’s services.
"We are excited to welcome Dylan to Arden Street," Viney said.
"We’ve been tracking him for a while and believe he has some great attributes to add to our midfield with more opportunity at AFL level.
"He’s got some great athletic attributes, and we think he’ll complement our group enormously with his footy nous and professionalism."
North Melbourne now holds picks No. 2, 3, 15, 21 and 25 as well as one third-round selection in the 2023 AFL Draft, with six days remaining in the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.
