Hamish McIntosh received a huge fright on Sunday when he was carried from the field in the arms of club doctors, but remarkably he’s now hopeful of playing against the Power.

The North ruckman was cleared of serious damage following scans on Monday, and said he couldn’t be happier with the news.

“You’re always scared when you go down. I was in a lot of pain actually and it hurt a fair bit,” he told kangaroos.com.au in an exclusive video interview.

“I was really worried about what I’d done and to know today there hasn’t been too much damage and I am still an outside chance of playing, it’s all positive."

Despite breathing a sigh of relief on the injury front, McIntosh says he was most upset that he couldn’t be there to help his team.

“It wasn’t a good day all-round for us. Personally on my side, I was starting to build into the game in the third quarter, so it was unfortunate to go down firstly, but then as a team, as a whole we didn’t play too well and it was a really disappointing day.”

Now it’s all about the Power on Saturday though, and McIntosh’s availability will be of huge importance.

“It’s just all about the icing and recovery and hopefully it (the knee) pulls up well over the next two or three days so I can actually do some running later in the week. We’ll know more then, but it’s a positive result all-round.”
