North Melbourne is pleased to announce that the 2024 Good Friday SuperClash against Carlton at Marvel Stadium last fortnight raised $312,088* for the Good Friday Appeal.

The money raised from this year’s match surpasses last year’s final donation tally of $232,353 and brings the contribution to the Good Friday Appeal since the Good Friday fixture was introduced in 2017 to over $2 million.

Almost one-third of this year's amount raised came from ticket sales ($103,000), with $5 contributed from every adult ticket sold and $10 from every family ticket sold.

The generosity of North Melbourne’s sponsors McDonald's, Mazda, RedZed, Puma and Tasmanian Heritage, and of Kangaroos players contributed a further $75,500.

The remainder came from fans' donations at the ground, the auction of the club’s specially designed match-worn SuperClash guernseys, and SuperClash membership sales.

Carlton also contributed over $10k through their player-led online auction.

North Melbourne CEO Jennifer Watt said the club was proud to support such an important cause.

“The Good Friday SuperClash was about so much more than football, as we came together with Carlton to support the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal,” Watt said.

“We are very proud of what the Good Friday SuperClash has become since it was launched by the club in 2017 and the fantastic contribution it has made to a cause that is close to the hearts of so many.

“We thank the sold-out crowd who attended this year’s match and everyone else who supported the day.”

Good Friday Appeal executive director Rebecca Cowan thanked the club for its support.

“We thank North Melbourne for their amazing support and contribution to the Good Friday Appeal,” she said.

“We are incredibly proud of the partnership we’ve shared since 2017, and this year’s Good Friday SuperClash was extra special.

“It was moving to see the North Melbourne and Carlton players spend time with patients and create some special memories for them and their families, as well as the other activities organised as part of the match to highlight the impact of the Royal Children’s Hospital. The reverse guard of honour featuring patients, families and staff from the hospital is always one of our favourite moments from the day each year.”

The money raised will help The Royal Children’s Hospital deliver world-class care to patients and their families through ground-breaking research, state-of-the-art equipment and technology, patient and family-centred care programs, and ongoing staff training and development.

*Final figure to be determined following the completion of North Melbourne and Carlton’s online auctions.
