The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos will launch their 2024 premiership campaign with a Grand Final rematch against the Brisbane Lions, after the fixture for the upcoming NAB AFLW season was released today.

Following their historic run to a first Grand Final in 2023, the Kangaroos will play a blockbuster season opener at Brighton Homes Arena in Brisbane on Sunday, September 1.

The Roos return for their first of three home games at Arden St in Week 2 against the Geelong Cats. Two further home games will be played in the club's second home of Tasmania.

As part of the AFL’s introduction of mid-week football, matches have been scheduled at neutral venues with appropriate lighting, including North Melbourne's Week 4 match against Port Adelaide at Mission Whitten Oval.

Fans will have the opportunity to watch the Kangaroos seven times in Victoria: three times at Arden St Oval; at Mission Whitten Oval under Friday night lights; plus away dates against Melbourne at Casey Fields, Carlton at Ikon Park and Essendon at Windy Hill.

At least eight of the club's home-and-away games will be free to watch on Channel 7.

For the first time, teams will play an 11-game home and away season over 10 weeks in 2024. The Roos will face Carlton and Richmond inside five days in Week 5 as 'mid-week footy' is introduced, with each team to play one mid-week game during the season.

The Kangaroos will celebrate Pride Round in Week 7 on home turf against the Sydney Swans at North Hobart Oval, and celebrate the two-week Indigenous Round against Adelaide at Norwood Oval in Week 9, and in front of the North faithful at Arden St in Week 10.

The NAB AFLW Finals Series will feature across four weeks, culminating in the NAB AFLW Grand Final being played on 30 November.
