In an exciting addition to a much hyped event already featuring legends of the Australian music industry, comedian Peter Helliar has been announced as the host of Aussie Rock on Arden; a concert presented by the North Melbourne Football Club at Arden Street.
Helliar is set to add his trademark comedic flair to a lineup boasting former Cold Chisel frontman Jimmy Barnes, pub-rock legends Noiseworks, country-pop superstar Shannon Noll and former Cold Chisel member Ian Moss.
"When I was asked to be a part of Aussie Rock on Arden I asked one simple question; ‘Will Peter Andre be performing?’ When President James Brayshaw guaranteed there was no chance of this happening, I couldn't sign up quick enough!" Helliar said.
In addition to Helliar, another big name has been added to the bill, with the flamboyant Brian ‘Strauchnie’ Strauchan expected to make an appearance.
"Shannon Noll has been pestering Strauchanie for years about doing a duet so maybe this will be the right place to do it! With Strauchnie's unique blend of comedy and rocking out, I will have everybody ROFLing... That's ROCKING-on-the-floor-laughing,” Strauchnie said.
To be held on the 12th of March, Aussie Rock on Arden will celebrate unique musical and sporting culture in ambient surroundings only minutes from the city centre. It will be a family-friendly event with children under 12 admitted free and complimentary public transport on the day of the event.
Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.com.au, in person at the Roo Shop or by calling 136 100.
A contribution from the profits will be made to the My Room Children’s Cancer Centre at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
