Star midfielder George Wardlaw is among six potential inclusions for North Melbourne for Sunday's Round 9 trip to Hobart to face reigning premier Brisbane.
Wardlaw, who missed last Thursday night's three-point loss to Essendon due to a corked thigh, is in the extended squad for the Kangaroos' first trip to Tasmania for season 2025.
Senior coach Alastair Clarkson confirmed earlier on Thursday that Wardlaw was expected to be fit and firing.
Young forward Geordie Payne has also been named in the extended squad for what could be his AFL debut. Payne, 19, arrived at Arden St as a mid-season rookie draft pick in 2024, and has delivered some standout performances at VFL level in recent weeks.
Defenders Aidan Corr, Griffin Logue, Toby Pink and Zac Fisher are also named in the squad, which will be trimmed when the Roos announce their selected team at 5pm on Friday.
Injured backman Jackson Archer is one of three confirmed outs for the trip to Ninja Stadium, alongside midfielder Will Phillips and defender Kallan Dawson, who have been omitted.
Nick Larkey, who has been named at centre half-forward, will once again be kicking for Roos fans' bellies on Sunday, with Macca’s shouting all fans at the game a free cheeseburger if Larkey kicks three goals.
