North Melbourne heads to the MCG on Saturday to do battle with Carlton for the second time this season.

It's an opportunity for the Roos, who have been building in confidence over the past two months, picking up two wins and a draw in that period.

Round 15, Carlton v North Melbourne

The opposition

The 6-7 Blues sit 10th on the ladder after their 34-point win over West Coast at Optus Stadium. Carlton blitzed the hosts in the opening term, shooting out to a 7.4 (46) to 1.1 (7) quarter-time lead.

Adam Cerra led the way, notching 30 disposals, nine marks and five tackles, while George Hewett racked up a game-high 35 touches.

Senior coach Michael Voss will be without key movers Sam Walsh and Harry McKay this week, with the duo being ruled out for the near future due to foot and knee injuries, respectively.

Star goalkicker Charlie Curnow is also in doubt with a calf complaint but will look to prove his fitness ahead of Saturday.

Running hot

A week on from playing a critical role in helping his side get over the line in Bunbury, Harry Sheezel was again one of the Roos' best against the Dockers.

The young star had 32 disposals, nine marks, seven inside 50s, six tackles and booted one goal in the defeat. He'll need to put in another strong shift if the Roos are to exact revenge on the Blues after a disappointing Good Friday day showing back in Round 6.

What the coach has said

North Melbourne senior coach Alastair Clarkson post-game v Fremantle: "A big focus for us was just to get our inside 50s up. We've been averaging 45 inside 50s a game to date, and to get 60 today is a step in the right direction for us.

"We just think if we get enough volume of inside 50s, the goals will eventually come. But we would just like to have a little bit more polish as we go across the arc.

"We're disappointed with the result, but really pleased with the process. We went about it the right way."
